A Shapeshifter's Lament

Can't you see I am you?
Can't you see we're the same?
I want to be recognized
I want to belong
Why do you turn away from me?
Why do you not see me?
I stand here all alone
I stand here crying at the moon
She looks down on me neglected
She looks down on me abandoned
They have left now
They have moved on
Didn't remember my scent
Didn't remember my soul
