nimdreamsI am a spirit. I discovered that technically I am a walk-in spirit in this life, when I chose to incarnate into this body. Before that, I was a spirit in another universe. I am a star spirit, as I was created by the Moon, a dream spirit, as I resided within the Dream, and a guardian spirit as I was defender of people within the Dream. Star spirit, dream spirit and guardian spirit are all labels I identify with, they're all a part of me, but I will call myself simply a spirit mostly as it simplifies things.
I have learned that beings created by deities are called Eidolons in my universe. Eidolons are created fully grown, but can shift to any age and their body changes accordingly. Eidolons cannot generally create life on their own, but can with a blessing of a deity or together with a deity. Just like the deities, an eidolon can be captured and bound, something I have written about in the past. The abilities/powers an Eidolon possesses depends on the deity who created them and which of their powers they infused the Eidolon with.
All Eidolons created by the Moon are considered stars. The Moon has a home in the Star Heavens, where she and her stars reside. I didn't live with them but I lived with a dream deity in the Dream. I eventually got to visit the Star Heavens in the wake world and have memories of attending balls there. Honestly, in my life as a spirit there were a lot of balls thrown by different deities.
Within the Dream, which is my home, I have the ability to shapeshift. Which is why I consider myself a shapeshifter as well. Nowadays I will get animalistic shifts such as mindset or phantom limbs. I used to think I was mostly a fox, but I have learned that is just a part of this life and not of my life as a spirit. I still get a lot of fox shifts, but I didn't shapeshift into a fox much more often than other animals as a spirit.
These are the words I use to describe myself at the moment. Spirit, Eidolon, shapeshifter. I don't know if I'll find better ones or more, but this works for me right now.
